키치너에 위치하고 있는 코네스토가 컬리지의 인기학과인 유아교육학과에 대해 알아볼께요. 아이들을 어떻게 가르치고 어떻게 접근하고, 아이들 성향, 다양한 놀이법등에 관해 배우게 된답니다. 수업시간에 배운 이론을 바탕으로 프리젠이이션 하고 실습하는 방식으로 교육과정이 진행된다고 하네요. 따라서 매 학기마다 field placement 과정이 포함되어있답니다. 코네스토가컬리지에는 child care 센터가 Doon Campus에 위치하고 있어 학교안에서도 실습이 이루어지고 있답니다.

 

The Early Childhood Education program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with young children in this important field. In this diploma program you will examine the overall development of children, along with the techniques and procedures used in setting the stage for, and guiding the behaviour of, young children in a childcare setting. You will learn about planning developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children from 4-months to 12-years of age. Your studies will provide you with a sound understanding of the importance of parent/teacher relationships and teamwork. You will also have the opportunity to practice classroom theory through extensive field practicums.Four college-operated child care centres in the community, and one on-campus (at Doon Campus) offer invaluable opportunities to gain practical experience. Extensive use is made of community child care centres and agencies.
