알곤퀸 컬리지의 baking & pastry arts 프로그램에 대해 알아보도록 할께요. 프로그램 과정은 1년 단기 certificate 과정으로써 수업시간의 약 60% 정도를 실습 위주로 수업을 한다고 하네요~ 마지막학기때 교육과정에는 80시간의 실습과정이 포함되어 수업시간때에 배운 내용을 현장에 적용해볼 수 있답니다. 아래는 학교 홈페이지에 나와있는 프로그램에 관한 설명 부분이랍니다. 한번 읽어보시면 좋을것 같아요. 

 

This one-year Ontario College Certificate program is designed to help start your career as a baker or pastry chef. Students receive practical, theoretical and hands-on training in the areas of baking, cake decorating, sanitation, and safety and shop management. Students spend approximately 60% of their time practising in Algonquin's on-campus baking and pastry laboratories.

 

Students are responsible to complete industry work experience equivalent to 80 hours to support fulfillment of the program learning outcomes. This work experience requirement is designed to further develop and refine skills through real world practice as a culinary professional. It is recommended that students begin seeking opportunity to complete their work experience in Level 01 of their program. Students are required to submit proof of their industry hours to the program placement advisor.

All students are required to participate in food handling courses in a baking lab.

베이킹학과의 졸업 후 취업률은 대체적으로 매우 높은 편입니다. 캐나다는 빵소비가 많은 국가 중 한 곳으로 어딜가나 빵을 파는 곳을 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있답니다. 취업분야는 아래와 같은 분야로 가능하며 대도시 뿐만 아니라 소도시 지역의 베이커리 샵등에도 취업이 가능하기에 폭을 넓혀서 일자리를 찾아보신다면 취업하시는데는 크게 문제가 없는 학과랍니다. 또한 상대적으로 영어를 많이 요구하지 않는 분야로 영어가 조금 부족한 분들도 취업이 용이한 학과입니다.
