선더베이에 위치하고 있는 컨페더레이션의 인기학과 항공정비학과 Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance에 대해서 알아보겠습니다.  캐나다 항공협회의 설문지에서 "최우수 항공대학"으로 인정받은 항공정비학과의 경우 선더베이 지역에서 취업도 가능하기에 한국유학생들에게 인기가 높은 학과입니다. 수업은 소규모로 이루어지고 있어 각 엔진별 직접 만져보며 기계를 다룰수 있는 기회가 많기 때문에 수업환경이 좋습니다. 보통 한 엔진당 2~3명의 학생이함께 다루어 본다고 합니다. 캐나다에서 항공정비학 공부 후 항공정비사 자격증을 취득하기 위해서는 4년의 경력이 필요하지만 컨페더레이션의 항공정비학을 졸업하실 경우 1년반의 경력을 인정 받을 수 있기 때문에 추후 졸업 후 취업이 되서 추가적인 경력을 쌓으시면 항공정비사자격증 시험을 보실 수 있는 자격조건을 갖추게 되며 시험에 통과하였을 시에는 최대 연봉 5만불 이상을 받으실 수 있답니다. 학교프로그램 기간은 2년이며 매년 9월학기에 입학이 가능하십니다. 프로그램 비용은 $15,745/1년 입니다. 2010-2011년도 졸업자 기준으로 6개월 이내에 취업을 한 학생들의 취업률은 80% 입니다.

 

 

졸업 후 취업

 

컨페더레이션의 항공정비학 전공자의 경우 대형항공사, 공항뿐만 아니라 민간의 경비행기와 전세기 정비 업체와 같은 영역에항공정비사로의 취업이 가능하세요. 하지만, Canada Transport 주관의 항공정비사 ‘자격증’ (AME Category M) 을 취득하시면능력과 경험을 인정받아, 더 좋은 환경 속에서 높은 연봉을 받으며 일할수 있는데요 5만불 이상의 연봉을 받게 됩니다.
