SAIT 항공정비학과(Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology)는 일반 항공기, 비행기, 헬리콥터 및 항공산업에 관련된 내용을 수업시간에 다루게 됩니다. 수업시간에 배우는 대부분의 교과 과정은 켈거리 국제공항에 있는 Art Smith Aero Centre에서 수업이 진행 되지만 몇개의 교과 과정은 web-based 방식으로 진행됩니다. 센터에 있는 랩실에서 수업이 이루어지기 때문에 학생들은 별도의 랩탑을 구매하지 않고도 수업을 들을 수 있습니다. SAIT 졸업생들은 캐나다 항공정비사 자격증 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) "M" license 시험을 볼 수 있는 자격이 주어지는데요, 자격증을 취득하기 위해서는 4년의 경력이 필요하지만 SAIT 프로그램 과정을 95% 출석률과 교과과정에서 70% 이상의 점수를 획득했을때 4년의 필요 경력 중 18개월을 인정받을 수 있습니다. SAIT 항공정비 프로그램 졸업생들은 2010-2011년도 기준으로 6개월 이내에 취업률은 90% 입니다.
Graduates find work as aircraft maintenance technicians leading to an aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) "M" license. Upon successful program completion and achieving 70% or greater in all of the courses and a minimum of 95% program attendance, you will receive 18 months credit towards a mandatory 48 month work experience requirement needed in order to obtain your AME license.
