알버타 캘거리에 위치하고 있는 명문 SAIT  Polytechnic 학교는 이공계통의 교육 과정이 유명하며, 실무 교육 위주의 교육으로 캘거리 지역에서 높은 취업률을 자랑하고 있는 공립학교입니다. 이공계통에 자신이 있으신분,기계관련 분야에 관심이 있으신분, 또한 캐나다에서 취업과 유학후이민을 고려하신다면 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers 과정을 추천드립니다. 수업시간에 이론위주의 수업과정이 아닌 실습위주의 과정으로 진행 되기 때문에 수업을 따라가는데 있어서 큰 어려움을 겪지 않으시리가 생각되네요. SAIT 항공정비학과(Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology)는 일반 항공기, 비행기, 헬리콥터 및 항공산업에 관련된 내용을 수업시간에 다루게 됩니다. 수업시간에 배우는 대부분의 교과 과정은  켈거리 국제공항에 있는 Art Smith Aero Centre에서 수업이 진행 되지만  몇개의 교과 과정은 web-based 방식으로 진행됩니다. 센터에 있는 랩실에서 수업이 이루어지기 때문에 학생들은 별도의 랩탑을 구매하지 않고도 수업을 들을 수 있습니다. SAIT 졸업생들은 캐나다 항공정비사 자격증 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) "M" license  시험을 볼 수 있는 자격이 주어지는데요, 자격증을 취득하기 위해서는 4년의 경력이 필요하지만 SAIT 프로그램 과정을 95% 출석률과 교과과정에서 70% 이상의 점수를 획득했을때 4년의  필요 경력 중 18개월을 인정받을 수 있습니다. SAIT 항공정비 프로그램 졸업생들은 2010-2011년도 기준으로 6개월 이내에 취업률은 90% 입니다.

 

Graduates find work as aircraft maintenance technicians leading to an aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) "M" license. Upon successful program completion and achieving 70% or greater in all of the courses and a minimum of 95% program attendance, you will receive 18 months credit towards a mandatory 48 month work experience requirement needed in order to obtain your AME license.

항공정비학 전공자의 경우 대형항공사, 공항뿐만 아니라 민간 경비행기와 전세기 정비 업체와 같은 영역에항공정비사로의 취업이 가능하세요. 하지만, Canada Transport 주관의 항공정비사 ‘자격증’ (AME Category M) 을 취득하시면능력과 경험을 인정받아, 더 좋은 환경 속에서 높은 연봉을 받으며 일할수 있는데요 5만불 이상의 연봉을 받게 됩니다.
